Research about Floral Motif

June 12th, 2007

Recently the team engaged a web revamp project from MattPhotography. The client is expecting to see floral designs incorporate with their new web design. This leads us to exploring the wonders of floral motif from different nationality. Last weekend, I visited the National Library and found a few interesting books on floral motifs. I was simply amazed that such fine detailed artworks existed way long ago. It’s simply impressive, when artists from the earlier centuries have limited technologies and gadgets, yet they are still able to accomplish such detailed artwork bit by bit.

I’ve come across some impressive floral artworks collection from the book. Collections like from Persian, Japanese and Western Europe. These are great reference, if you need research about floral motif. Try looking for books published by The Pepin Press, book titled Persian Designs.

Adobe CS3 out on shelves!

May 23rd, 2007

When Apple started to plant Intel Processors into their new range of macintosh computers. Many companies have started releasing updates for their softwares to support the new Intel powered Macs. Many designers were expecting Adobe to release updates for CS2 Suites and Studio 8, but sad to say, Adobe don’t intend to release Universal Binary (Update to support Intel Macs, thus resulting in better performance) update for CS2 Suites and Studio 8. Without such updates, CS 2 Suites or Studio 8 which run on PowerPC binary won’t be able to perform well (As the software will have to go through Rosetta to translate the PowerPC binary into Intel Supported binary). Designers with the latest Intel Mac are left to wait for the release of new Adobe Creative Suite 3, including us. *Sigh*

Adobe Creative Suite 3

With Adobe CS3 hitting the shelves at the IT Retails, it solves all designers worries.

Although the deadline for the project is indeed very tight, but the team managed to complete the whole project within 3weeks. It’s definitely an achievement for the team to complete a full flash interactive site within a short period of time.
